About Web Services
eDAPIA and eCertification Manuals
These first of all require that your manual(s) be converted and loaded into our system and require you to be assigned a username and password. Please contact your account manager for more information.
TRA makes it easy to get your plans reviewed and approved. Our status as a Design Approval Primary Inspection Agency (DAPIA) also gives us some freedoms in how we conduct our reviews and approvals.
You are free to submit your plans in hard copy format as has been done for years. You can do so via the postal service or by fax. Refer to Online Forms & Procedures section for instructions on these hard copy submissions.
But we are also taking advantage of newer technologies to streamline this process. Our electronic design review and approval services (eDAPIA / eCertification) offers you the ability to submit your plans in Adobe PDF format attached to an email requesting the specific work to be done. The PDF format also allows TRA the ability to offer our clients secure access, via the internet, to their entire design approval package, approved models or whatever portion the client wishes. However, we will always accept all other formats and original cad, word processing, spreadsheet files, etc. We have considered a web based submission process, but found the email process to be more agreeable with nearly all of our clients. Email gives us a more hands on approach with our clients and keeps the lines of communication efficient, secure, and quick! TRA highly recommends using Adobe Acrobat as your PDF creation and review tool. There are other products available, but nothing compares to ease of use and required abilities.
We are currently considering online project tracking, but our typical turn around time on projects is so fast and thorough, that online project tracking might not be a worthwhile tool for our clients. We'll keep you posted. Furthermore, rest assured that we'll take all the necessary security precautions in safeguarding your data. You'll be able to access your online manual and status reports only with the proper password. Both the email and online manuals are maintained on a secure server.
